About

My name is Eksith Rodrigo. I’m a programmer and technology enthusiast who hates computers and technology.

I believe the best kind of technology stays out of your way when not needed…
Appears and does it’s job with minimal input when needed…
Upon completion of its task, quietly disappears into the background…

Since this is rarely, if ever, the case with our technology, I’m doomed to despise it.

I have a bad habit of switching between U.S. English and British English from time to time, and I’m a very poor speller so apologies in advance. Please let me know if I’ve made any such mistakes.

If you need to contact me for any reason, my email is on the front page of my blog. Or use the contact form at the bottom of this page.

WARNING: I post a lot of code on this blog and some of it gets mangled by WordPress formatting. Please double-check for missing or extra quotes, backslashes, ‘<‘ and ‘>’ transformed into ‘<’ and ‘>’ and other problems. All the code posted here has been verified to work before I post, except in cases where I explicitly mention that it’s incomplete.

I’m putting together some experiments I’ve been working on. Hopefully someone will find them useful.

Update on commenting (Feb. 10, 2009)

There’s no moderation on any of the comments except for what Akismet automatically catches and those with 2 or more links (this is a spam prevention measure). Excluding these circumstances, your comments will appear immediately after they’re posted.

Please disagree all you will. I want to talk to people with opposing points of view. Just don’t spam or be abusive.

Update July 20, 2011

I’m re-linking my RedBubble page, which I removed some time ago from the sidebar. Feel free to buy something if you feel like it ;)

Update February 1, 2012

Lately, I’ve been obsessed about tiny houses and otherwise small dwellings. I’ve always been a fan of simple living and wanted to build a small cabin on a little plot of land so I can start growing at least part of my own food. Oh, one can dream!

You can read about those posts under the Sustainable Living and Tiny House tags on this blog.

If you find anything on this blog useful, please drop me a line as I’d love to hear from you. All the content on this blog is provided free and I don’t charge for email help on anything posted here. If I have the time, I do respond within the same day.

If you feel like contributing to my cabin fund, please feel free to get something from my shop. Or try Ting, the wireless service that doesn’t suck, and help me out.

Thank you!
