Don’t be fooled by the 1990’s site design, this is actually a smorgasbord of interesting usability foibles.
It never ceases to amaze me how much we’ve adjusted our own lives to the gadgets and devices we use rather than the other way around. It’s almost as if our perceptions of everyday usability inconveniences have been so worn down by years of self-training that we’ve still managed to love them and can’t live without them. A virtual industrial design Stockholm Syndrome.
One thing that you may consider is that the site itself is so simply designed that even with the outdated HTML, it’s still very usable… In keeping with the Michael Darnell’s own sentiments. And so from a web designer’s perspective, always mold the design to the content and not the other way around.
