About
My name is Eksith Rodrigo. I’m a programmer and technology enthusiast who hates computers and technology.
I believe the best kind of technology stays out of your way when not needed…
Appears and does it’s job with minimal input when needed…
Upon completion of its task, quietly disappears into the background…
Since this is rarely, if ever, the case with our technology, I’m doomed to despise it.
I have a bad habit of switching between U.S. English and British English from time to time, and I’m a very poor speller. So apologies in advance.
Please let me know if I’ve made any such mistakes.
When I refer to this “page” being ugly, I am referring to the the content itself, not the themes, layouts or other presentational items. Those are quite beautiful.
If you need to contact me for any reason, my email is on the front page of my blog.
I don’t know how to describe myself with an article “about myself”, so if you happen to be curious, try the following…
If you want to know how I feel about work, give these a read :
- The Zen of Programming… And other pretentious nonsense.
- Jump through hoops? Let’s not
- Stick “Enterprise” somewhere in the title
- Dear One Trick Ponies:
- Simplicity, Consistency, and Appropriateness :
If you want to know how I feel about life :
- Dear Santa… For Christmas this year, I’d like you to kill technology
- R.I.P Buddhism
- America, the “mindset”
- How to take a beating like a man
I was a witness to an unfortunate encounter a fellow blogger had with a bunch of self absorbed nincompoops (pay close attention to those comments). The incident prompted me to post a reply.
I’m not terribly proud of losing my temper, but something had to be said. If there’s a disagreement in the matter of opinions, assaulting your opponent’s intelligence is a pretty poor way to get your own point across.
